Bringing the Whimsy With Me
my 2025 ins & outs
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
— Rainer Maria Rilke
I have lived the questions for so long that now I am on the cusp of finding myself living the answers. And it’s both exciting and scary. Teetering from one emotion to the other in an endless cycle.
This year started on a clean slate, more clean and fresh than ever before. It feels weird, but good. Started a new job right on the first week of January.
Many things I’ve dreamed about and wanted to do for so long are now suddenly available to me. I get to consider them in a more concrete way than I’ve ever gotten to before. This will be a big year of change, bringing in a new form of independence but—depending on some circumstances—possibly at the cost of the more human and slow pace of living I’ve taken great pains to cultivate.
So I will also cling on to the peace and whimsy as much as I can. Or I should say I will the bring inner peace and whimsy with me into this new chapter.
*side note: This was originally written & posted on Instagram in January. I meant to post it on here too, but life got in the way and it slipped my mind!
